Los Angeles based photographer Lorenzo Diggins Jr. is an interdisciplinary artist whose work is preoccupied with the moments that live in still images. Influenced first by his mother, who spent his childhood with a camera in hand, and later by the work of photographers like Gordon Parks and William Eggleston, Diggins’ work exists as tribute to moments that redefine simplicity.
A defining characteristic of Diggins’ work is the intrinsic nature of his creative process. He achieves simplicity in the most complex backgrounds, focusing on the humanity and heart of whatever and whomever he is capturing. His intuition and eye for detail informs his ability to create the vision and narrative that is authentically representative of what is before him. As a photojournalist, Diggins is committed to using his work not only to tell the stories of his subjects, but for his work to serve as an opportunity for viewers to tell stories of their own.
In his continued work as a photographer, Diggins seeks for his work to sustain and deepen viewers’ connection with the images as he centers the stories--and the moments-- found in the lives of the the people that experience them.
